Everyone has the story of the struggles in blogging, isn't it?

Sometimes we need to struggle for learning then designing, then content, then traffic, then money, then Bla.. bla...bla. ;)

I am also in struggle !  I struggle for learning !

Okey just leaves it answer me a question, Are you a struggling blogger?

If Yes ! This post is especially for you ! This post will really help you !

To continue my #Bloggers Talkshow Series, I am here with a blogger from Nepal. -Suresh Khanal.
Let's start by welcoming him ;)

Oh ! Wait , at first read this interview too ;)

Caution: Reading this interview without having a cup of coffee beside you is dangerous to health ;)

Can you please tell something about you and your blog?

I'm Suresh Khanal behind my blog Bivori.com. I was born in Pokhara (Thumki VDC in fact) and Kathmandu brought me up! I truly love the natural beauty of my country and often try to find some time to make short trips so that I can run away from Kathmandu, though for a couple of days.

After running several other blogs and websites, I started Bivori with an intention to grow it as an honest resource for anybody who wants to learn blogging. I focus on best blogging tips, worthy WordPress themes & Plugins, different blogging tools and monetization methods.

Bivori is open for guest blogging if you have some good quality content to share with my readers in the above topic.

How did you enter the blogging world?

Adsense! Honestly!

It was more than one and a half decades back, my friend Anish introduced me with NitroClicks. It sends you some Ads and pays you money for visiting those websites. We used to call it an online job these days. Funny! Everything went fine for some time, but when NitroClicks was sold to some new people, they stopped sending offers to international members. I had to look for other ways to make money online.

After some research, I come to know about Adsense & Yahoo Ads. The latter was not open for international publishers at that time. Thus, it was Adsense to pull me in blogging.

This is a really funny story. Adsense expects to establish blogs and websites to extend their revenue through it, but I created my first site to earn through Adsense. Anyway, it lets me learn some great lessons about online money!

You really need to offer true value to your readers to be a successful publisher or blogger. You can have your own ways of monetization. If you have a good earning blog or website, then you can use Adsense to add up your revenue.

How many blogs do you have now? How was your first blog? Was it successful?

I dropped some blogs and sold some others. I'm currently working with 3 blogs. I've icttrends.com to assist the candidates of Computer Operator Job Exam, psexam.com to share resources of Computer Science and bivori.com to talk about blogging in general. Every time I settle one blog and start a new one, I find the newer is much better.

I already mentioned about my first blog. It was not successful, as you can see, the starting itself was misled.

Are you a part time blogger or a full time blogger?

I'm a part time blogger. I have a couple of hours in the morning and a few more in the evening. I check and respond emails, messages; I check stats of my blogs and adjust my strategy accordingly during morning hours. In the evening, I write posts, read other blogger's posts and comment.

Turning to a full-time blogging in Nepal is not much difficult. We have the added benefit of foreign exchange differences and our lifestyle is not much expensive. But, it must be due to the mindset, my friends and family never likes me to quit day time job.

How much time do you spend on your blog daily?

5 hours a day. Sometimes I get more when we have public holidays.

In your view, why do most bloggers fail?

The zeal to make money quick and lack of patience. If they are aware that easy money does not exist and online working requires not less diligence than offline, they'd make a different beginning.

The lack of technical know-how and inability to afford to hire experts may stop many from blogging successfully.

Finally, the biggest reason why most bloggers fail is because it is damn easy to create a new blog. Because it is easy, many create a blog and test their hands on it. They run away when realize that running a blog is different than creating a blog.

Is there any biggest blogging mistake you have done?

Yes, a couple of them. The first one is taking a long break. When your offline world demands all of your time and you can't turn to your blog for long, you'll find all the relations broken that took you quite long to build up. After a failed visit for several times, your readers will stop visiting your blog. It will be equally difficult to lift it up as it was a brand new blog.

Next crime I've committed is starting without a proper plan and a solid strategy. Though a blog is something where you can continually go on adding more content and growing it, you should have a proper planning and a good strategy before you actually start creating it.

You should be clear about the niche, scope, content strategy, linking strategy, SEO and revenue sources. Stating it in one sentence, you should see the finished version of your blog before you create it.

What methods do you use to make money from your blog?

There are a couple ways I'm using. The affiliate is #1 – you can find my affiliate links in posts and sidebars. I write about the products I've purchased and used. This inspires my readers to buy those products.

Google Adsense is #2 – I enjoy the passive income. I don't need to put any extra work on it to earn.

Sponsored Reviews are my #3 revenue source. I accept some offers if they match what my blog talks about and get paid for publishing a post for them. However, I don't lose honesty even if I'm writing sponsored posts.

Direct Ads are on #4. I've got very few direct Ads and still I like them as they add my regular income.

Guest Blogging is my newest revenue source. I write quality posts for other blogs and they pay me for publishing my post in their blog.

I'm also using SponsoredTweets. It earns very little but I love it.

I hope I'll discover more methods in coming days.

What methods do you use to drive traffic to your blog?

Building relationship. As you might have already judged me in that way. I use Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and any other network not just to leave my links, but I go one step further and try to interact with other bloggers and my readers. I let them feel me, know me and talk to me. Once you build up a rapport with your readers, you can use any social media to drive instant traffic to each of your new posts.

Apart from social networks, it is SEO. Social network offers you instant traffic but to make your post reach wider and discoverable even in the future, you must focus on SEO. Organic traffic, after all, is the best converting for Ad revenue.

Can you please give few blogging tips for my readers to build a better blog?

I guess, I've offered much in answering your previous questions, so, no more tips. But I'd like to offer suggestion to new bloggers to stay focused, consistent and patient. If you go on blogging on any topic for two or three years, you'll remain among few experts in your niche. It is because most others have already quit blogging! Once you learn and prove your authority on a topic, you can see a multitude of monetization methods. So, in the initial days, forget about money, forget Adsense and all other companies. Simply focus on producing top quality posts – the most useful ones, promote your blog and improve your authority. Once you start getting good traffic and your blog is popular in the blogosphere, you'll start getting emails – each email will offer you to make more money. So, plan to earn money after 3 months, but now produce content!

Anything to say at the last?

Thank you for the opportunity to put my views among your readers, at the same time, I truly appreciate your time reading this.
